Organisational Transformation/Business Development
“Keogh Consulting was introduced to me by my Finance Director, Don Morley through the work that Keogh was doing with the WMC Finance team. Keogh had a seven year working relationship with WMC Resources and made a substantial contribution through:
- Engagement of the Executive Management Team in Strategic Planning, Team Development and Business Development
- Membership of the Steering Team and OD advisor for the planning and implementation of the ‘One WMC’ cultural transformation
- Designer and facilitator of the G70 –The Annual Senior Management Business Planning Conference for the top 70 managers
- Executive coaching and senior management team development for the Executive General Managers of copper and uranium, gold, exploration, finance and fertilisers
- Goal setting and business planning
- Advisor to the MD and executive team
Considering the disparate nature of our executive team and the global nature of the work and our resources, much was achieved.
Keogh advice and guidance ensured that we successfully implemented the ‘One WMC’ cultural change program and when one considers this achievement, having regard to the tough and challenging competitive environment of the time, Keogh’s contribution was substantial. Keogh was impressive in relation to all aspects of the service they provided however their style, which was characterised by calm, meaningful advice, based on a solid foundation of experience and knowledge, assisted the business by bringing out the best in our Executive Team and consequently our organisation.
I have no hesitation in recommending Keogh Consulting to prospective clients and welcome enquiry to expand on my experience of their capability and talent.”
Hugh Morgan AC CEO WMC Resources Ltd
“In a world where the lowest common denominator for global competitiveness is technical excellence, organisations that excel in the marketplace are those that know without a shadow of a doubt that connecting its people to its vision is the most important business imperative by a long shot.
I applaud the CEO and executive team who have the insight and perhaps humility to recognise that they are not experts in organisational culture. When Keogh Consulting is provided an open door with a mandate to lead real change, unprecedented value can be added to the organisation. I know, because over a ten year period, Keogh Consulting worked with us in developing our supervisor leadership pipeline, management pipeline, trained our HR team, taught us to have ‘real’ conversations and helped us achieve some serious BHAGs.
What did this mean from a bottom line perspective? Employee loyalty, lower attrition, high level employee ownership, operations guys driving all night to take a plant part from SA over the Victorian border, 86% affirmative votes on Enterprise Agreements, succession plans, a meaningful Performance Management system designed and implemented in a traditionally unionised environment and a heck of a lot of fun and laughter along the way.
Convinced?”
Anita Pahor, Senior Vice President, Energy Developments
“I had engaged Keogh Consulting previously and I needed a consultancy with a very professional approach and the ability to build the relationship between management and the board, in a safe way, so that everyone could come on the journey. I always learn something from the workshops that can be used in everyday work life.”
Linda Sorrell, Chief Executive, Melbourne Health
“Keogh always establishes a clear mandate to challenge and work in partnership with you & your business in the start up phase of each project & delivers according to this agreement. Keogh uses an effective approach to discovering what your business is about, what the issues & challenges are, who the people are & how they can best contribute. In conducting extensive pre work & analysis Keogh always provides sound & insightful recommendations to support project deliverables and enhance organisational, team & individual effectiveness.”
Mark Mitchell, Chief Operations Manager, Perseverance Corporation
“Keogh’s approach is a great combination of listening to client requirements while at the same time being prepared to demonstrate leadership by staying true to their beliefs around effective personal & organisational transformation. This means as a client we are listened to and the approach is customised to suit our needs.
At the same time though, Keogh is justifiably confident in their approach to personal & organisational transformation and will back their judgement when designing an intervention. Perhaps even more importantly, Keogh makes deep commitments to clients that are serious about change & which go beyond fees for projects. This results in close working relationships that ultimately deliver better than expected outcomes.”
Geoff Weaver – Human Resources Manager, BP Refinery Kwinana, BP
“Keogh has intimate knowledge of the oil & gas sector, workplace issues, personnel attitudes and the business drivers that underpin these often unique and complex operations. They are passionate about their activities and celebrate the success of organisations that succeed.
As a community based organisation we are dependent on the generosity of South Australians for our funding. Keogh was recommended to us by a board member to assist us to develop our 5 year strategic plan. Keogh provided experienced senior consultants to facilitate the process & this engaged all members of the team & the board in the development & implementation of the plan. Key to the service provided was the environment that Keogh created which enabled all to speak up. A great service – business like but with a human face!”
Konrad Gawlik, Executive Manager, Childhood Cancer Association
“I was first exposed to Keogh Consulting in Melbourne, Australia in 2000.
I was not instrumental in hiring Keogh on that initial occasion, however I was so impressed by a potent mix of professionalism & frankness, that I have used them numerous times since. The talent combination allows the creation of an atmosphere free of fear & full of confidence which, in turn, cascades into unveiling the obstacles standing in the path of truly productive organisations.”
Bob Dandie, Group Supply Manager, WMC Resources Ltd
“Keogh Consulting was the principal consulting firm used by Energy Developments in a broad range of Business Development, Human Resources and Organisational Development areas over the seven and a half years (December 1997 – June 2003) that I worked for the Company.
In consultation with EDL, Keogh designed and implemented a suite of development programs which effectively addressed the needs of our employees. We employed a very broad cross section of employees as part of our scope to build, own and operate power projects using waste fuels and in remote area power supply. Keogh successfully balanced recognising and meeting the personal and professional development needs of leaders and managers to allow them to harness their full potential and demonstrated considerable expertise at working with the sometimes diverse cultures of construction and operations employees and also finance and management employees.
The Keogh team was highly skilled in working through the natural conflict that would arise in teams and groups during development programs or workshops. In my experience, some of our managers needed to express a range of emotions including doubt, cynicism and opposition during professional development programs before they could fully embrace the objectives of the program. Keogh Consulting worked skilfully with this to gain the respect, loyalty and commitment of a number of these participants and to allow them to engage in the development opportunities in a way they were comfortable with. This engagement was crucial as we were a rapidly expanding business and needed to equip our leaders effectively and quickly.”
Andrea Webb-Jolly (held a range of positions from 1997 to 2003) Group Manager, Organisation Development EDL

Ian Moran Off Shore Manager, AGR Asia Pacific
“Keogh’s service offering has been invaluable. I appreciate the Keogh team’s capacity to be objective and to bring their diverse industry, business and life experience to the table.
Keogh’s service is confidential and professional and is able to be tailored to our particular industry and business needs. Keogh’s approach is both exhaustive and inclusive, engaging all stake holders within the business. It delivers a rich and honest representation of the views and opinions of the people, the organisation’s strengths and weaknesses, and the key areas requiring attention.
Keogh challenge me to focus on personal exploration as well as building beyond my current capacity so that I can make the best possible decisions and plans for the business and people – plans that I can implement, review and amend.
I have found that the Keogh team ‘listen to understand’ and then reflect my thoughts, issues and concerns back to me. The intent of this reflection of my thoughts is to enable me or, on some occasions, make me explore my world through different eyes. This is one of the most valuable exchanges that I have experienced in business.”
Edward Milne, Regional Executive Manager, Southern Region, Skilled

“The various workshops I have created with Keogh since my initial exposure have not diminished my feeling that this consultancy has a ‘Gift’ in being able to place all participants in a ‘comfortable’ place yet, at the same time, be able to ask the hard questions… even when it is difficult asking those questions of the most senior staff involved.”
